Regulatory Authorities for the states for which we are authorisedwww.srg.caa.co.uk - This is the UK Civil Aviation Authority Safety Regulation Group site. There is plenty to see and Personnel Licensing and Medical are easy to find. However, the UK medical standards for most licences are now those of the Joint Aviation Authorities (next link). www.jaa.nl - Go to JARs and then to JAR-FCL(Part 3) Medical and the standards are there. http://www.faa.gov/about/office_org/headquarters_offices/avs/offices/aam/ This is the US Federal Aviation Administration Office of Aviation Medicine site and leads to the various Departments and topics you may wish to discover." www.casa.gov.au - The Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority is here. The medical standards are not published but there is plenty to see otherwise. www.tc.gc.ca/civilaviation/cam/menu.htm - This is the Aviation Medicine part of Transport Canada's site and is most helpful having just been improved. www.caa.co.za - For the South African standards go to legislation and policy documents, then SA-CATS-MR and they are there in several formats. www.cad.gov.hk/english/ppl.html - The Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department is here. The medical standards are not listed but they parallel the JAA in most respects. www.gcaa.ae/en/ - This is the General CAA of the United Arab Emirates URL and has some useful information. www.icao.int - The International Civil Aviation Organisation is the UN Agency that oversees all civil aviation worldwide and has an interesting site, including it’s own aviation medicine section. http://www.mlit.go.jp/english/index.html - This is the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Travel and Tourism site. Click on Civil Aviation Bureau for the information you may need. www.caa.govt.nz - The New Zealand CAA site is easy to use and Medical has a wealth of information as well as all the forms needed. www.caas.gov.sg - This is the CAA of Singapore. To find the medical standards, type aviation medicine into their search box. Societies and AssociationsThere are obviously thousands of sites out there and so we have listed just five as an introduction. These will lead you to more. www.balpa.org - This is the British Airline Pilots Association site with public and members only areas. www.ifalpa.org - This is the International Federation of Airline Pilots Associations and has a wealth of material. www.aopa.co.uk - The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association is one of the largest private pilot bodies. www.pfa.org.uk - The Popular Flying Association, now the Light Aircraft Association, covers mainly the home-built and smaller part of the general aviation scene. http://aeromedical.org - This site belonging to Dr Dougal Watson has a very extensive set of aviation, aviation medicine and human factor links and is recommended. |
